camping, despite what others may think, is fun.

Most definitely. Going camping after I finish work today. Big woop. About work, I mean, not camping. Certainly not camping. I like camping. Especially when I get to go camping in a super-expensive van. Which, this year, I do. As I did last year.

Awesome summer dress. That is my monkey in the background. I got that at some zoo in the middle of nowhere. I wore that dress last time I went camping. Which is precisely why I will not be taking it with me. They (aliens of course) will know. Now I must succumb to my mothers wishes that I will help her find a new pair of sunglasses. Aliens will know if hers are from last year as well.
Happy New Year Aliens.

I miss The Trevi Fountain and it's gelati.

I miss it! Want to go back! Now!
I went and saw Twilight again. This time with my mum. Well done, I just turned my mother into another Twilight fan. Hopefully she will live.
Note to self: Need to stop making people obsessed with the same things I am.

Everyone keeps asking me if I have the "travel bug". Unlikely. I don't like getting sick but I do find bugs fascinating.

Time is of the essence here people!

That is precisely what I tell people when they ask why I go so fast on my bike. "Time is of the essence here people!" I like going down steeps hills especially and racing my sister who, being three years younger than me, will never actually beat me. I am faster... and I love it.
The people in Italy ride bikes. A lot. Everywhere you go there is a push bike leaning against a wall. I loved it. There isn't that mush space in Italy though. No silent roads where you can whiz by going as fast as you can. There is however a lot of corners. Not so fun.

Christmas stockings are full today

Well, I can't speak for the rest of the population of the earth all I can say is that mine is. I got Bones Season 2 and a new piano book so I am very happy.
Christmas this year is actually very quiet. Just us and Grandma. Pleasant though. Then again I must say after twelve games of dominoes I don't think I will be playing that for a while. Tea-time now. I don't think I can fit anything more in! No more food!
Once again,

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Waiting gets very tiring

I am waiting. And still waiting. Yep, once again waiting. Ok, one more time I am waiting. For what? You may ask or scream or yell. I will give you two hints: they consist of the pictures that are above. Yes! Once again another post about Bones as I have nothing interesting to write about. I want the second season already!
Turns out the holidays are not a very good time to pick little things out from the people around me. I went and saw Twilight. As predicted, I loved it. Not going to start calling myself a Twilighter though. That right there ladies and gentlemen is something very sad indeed. I pity those of you who have opted for this peculiar name.
Christmas is tomorrow. I wish all of you a Merry Christmas, Boun Natale or the equivalent of "Merry Christmas" in whatever language you speak. Now I am going out to see the few Christmas lights my town has opted for. Goodnight.

Summer and a dose of Eloise

It is summer here and today has a rather nice high of 31 degrees Celsius. When I say nice in this post, I actually mean stinkin' horrible. The heat is far to hot for me to go outside and do something so I have been reading my school book. Hello, Bell Jar. Luckily, the annoying weatherman who likes to ask how people are doing even though they obviously are not going to answer has predicted it to be a bit cooler for Christmas. I hope it is. I like it when it is sunny but not I can fry an egg on my back sunny. I think that I shall go and watch Eloise at Christmastime now. She and Julie Andrews always make me smile.

Drawings

Before, when I said that I will go and draw some stuff, well, I did. Then I eyed my water-colour pencils just sitting there looking so lonely and bored so I decided to muck about using them for a bit. But as always, the question: what to draw? I decided on a cover of the graphic novels W.I.T.C.H. First two pictures are my very bad self portraits. The second picture is of Will and lucky last is Hay-Lin. Not very good, but anyway I thought that I would post them. Record. Three postings one day. Not even one day just one afternoon. Wow, I must be really bored.

Emily and Zooey Deschanel

Ooh! Just thought of something to write about. Emily Deschanel stars in a very good TV program named Bones (have you read me mention that before? I think so...) as Dr. Temperance Brennan while her sister, Zooey Deschanel, has had roles in various films and television shows. Their Dad directed The Passion of the Christ and their mother was also an actress. Talk about showbiz running in the family. Anyway, I found this cool picture of the sisters. Now I will go and draw some stuff while waiting for Bones Season 2 to come out on DVD.

Christmas parties and Twilight

So tonight there is going to be a really big Christmas party at my house. Lots of people will be there so right now everyone is just a teensy bit stressed out. I lied. Everyone is just plain stressed out. Not looking forward to boring party.

I really like the Twilight saga. Can't wait to go see the film even though it seems that I do have to wait. Blah. Nothing to write about. I am thinking of conducting a mini photo shoot tomorrow in one of the alleys near my house but I will probably decide against it. Or I will just straighten my hair which always makes me annoyed as it (my hair) is too curly to stay straight. Either way.

Anne of Green Gables and yet another Twilight fan

I just adore this film starring Megan Follows and I also enjoyed the book, Anne of Green Gables written by L.M. Montgomery. I don't why, I just love the idea of living in the end of the 1800's by the sea. Pretty dresses, lemonade, tea parties. Yet another Alice in Wonderland type fantasy with one important exception: Anne lived on the real, solid earth; Alice (at least while she was in Wonderland) did not.

Ok, read Twilight by Stephanie Myer, loved it, read the second one, loved it, read the third one, loved it and now waiting for the silly, small-town bookstore to open in the morning so I can love the fourth one too.

My poor camera

This is the story of a very tired and selfless camera. Once upon a time their was a young lady who went on a very important trip to Italy. Her camera (nicknamed Shark) was allowed to come along, on one condition. It was to take pictures any time the young lady wanted. Shark agreed. As the trip progressed the camera got tireder and tireder till it was so tired it just beeped and turned itself off. The young lady was worried. Shark wouldn't charge like usual.
"Shark? What is wrong dearest friend? Why I do believe that you have been taking so many pictures that you have worn yourself out"
However, the young lady found the time in her very busy schedule to take her dearest camera to the nearest person who told her she was using the wrong plug.
"Oops. Tee Hee. My bad." The young lady giggled.

Thus, the story of how I accidentally somehow took 2244 photos on my trip to Italy without the whole wrong plug thing and have tired my poor camera out.
Feel sorry for Shark now.
Ten seconds later...
Stop feeling sorry for Shark while thinking that this is what cameras were designed to do.
"Lets get out there Shark!"

Awesome pencil boxes are in Greece

You probably won't be able to see it but I will mention what it is anyway. Just because i can. In the very bottom left hand corner of this picture, you will see a box. It is a art supply box and I think that it is really cool. This picture is from the film, The Sisterhood of The Travelling Pants 2 and was taken when Lena (Alexis Bledel, can you say Gilmore Girls?) was in Greece. I think that I will go and find myself an awesome box to put my art supplies in.

So the big day finally came and here I am in the wonderful land of pizza, pasta and all things religious and weird. Like some of these peoples shoes. They obviously havent seen the warnings about high heels on tv. Nah, they can do what they want. They do live in Italy after all.

Vampires and Hitler's daughter.

Strange combination. One is a character in a book I want to read, the other is a character in a book I am reading. Can you guess which? I will give you a very big clue: I am reading about World War Two. Hitler's Daughter. It is a short novel by Jackie French. These four kids play a game while waiting for the bus where they create a character and then make up a story about them. This one day they just happened to make up a story about Hitler's daughter.
The Vampire thing refers to the book Twilight by Stephanie Myer. I want to read that book before I go see the film. It is most definitely better to do things that way around. Read about, then see. Or even better: See then write about. Go and try out my theory now please.

Packing is hard.

Packing is truly hard. Especially when there is a weight limit on your bag. Will I actually wear this? Do I need two tubes of toothpaste? How am i going to pack all this into the suitcase? So many questions. Ugh. Colour-coordinating my stuff helps though. Must get back to my packing. "Yawn".

Mamma Mia!

Mamma Mia: The Movie is a really funny, feel-good film. I just got it last weekend and have watched three times already. my favourite scene is the 'Dancing Queen' scene. They are all just so funny running down that hill. The 'voulez vouz' scene (above) is awesome too. The cheography is great. Ok. Enough of me going on about Mamma Mia. Go and watch this film. I, however, am going to watch Bones tonight.

2nd Place

M-cat and i won second place in our Italian video contest. Awesome. We won a bag of snakes. Then we proceeded to eat them in front of everyone and not share because we won them fair and square. Selfish, I know, but we never win anything. M-cat wanted me to write that she is stressing because she has a biology exam on tuesday and she does not think that she is ready for it. I have one word of advice: study! That's right. Get up!
"'Duck!'
'What?'"
This is from the swan princess.

Debutant and Taylor Swift

I am going to be doing my deb next year. I already have a partner and now I have to get a white dress. I would love to wear one like Taylor Swift does in her music video. The one wear she is standing on the balcony. But I doubt my school (or my pride) would let me. Oh well, traditional white dress it is then.
I quite like Taylor Swift's music. It's very, what's the word?... cute.

Entomologist... a.k.a. bug scientist.

Jack Hodgins off Bones is one, and so is Gill Grissom off CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. So, I was just wondering what they actually do? They couldn't possibly just study bugs all day, every day.
The Amateur Entomologists' Society (AES) from the UK, has lots of info. It sounds pretty interesting. I love this picture of a poisonous grasshopper: Dictyophorus spumans. Sounds like these guys get to pretend to do a pretty cool job. (Hodgins and Grissom, that is, not real entomologists).

Shiny foil things and my Italian video

I must have been very bored today at lunch, because I somehow (not quite sure how) started a mini-war involving a foil ball. It was entertaining none the less. I hit Fi quite a few times on the head. She re-payed me by throwing the foil ball right back at my head. Oh well.

M-cat and mine Italian project. Unless you understand Italian, it probably won't make any sense. So, if you are not bilingual, read the post from November 2nd. That should explain it. How cute is my teddy? I agree, very cute.

Out damn spot! Out I say! in the true style of Lady Macbeth

We have been reading Macbeth in English lately and today my teacher (Ironically named Mr. English, seriously) wrote a list of quotes on the board for us to guess who said it and in what context. I like English (subject) so this was relatively fun for me. Till I realized that I was the only one who was actually getting any of that stuff. Then it was just a little bit embarrassing. Oh, well. I supposed I just kicked everyone else's butts at it.
Lady Macbeth is so mean. Macbeth is all "No, i don't want to horribly murder the King who just promoted me" while Lady Macbeth is all "Well, you are gonna because I want to be Queen". Then she ends up killing herself. We all cheered because she was so mean. The costumes are awesome though. All Elizabethan and such. The picture above is of a scary Lady Macbeth.

What's that? A Hat?

What's that? A Hat?
This is a video for the show Wizards of Waverly Place. Not that good a show but very funny song.

What that? A hat?
Crazy funky junky hat?
Overslept.
Hair unsightly.
Tryin' look like Keira Knightly.
We've been there,
We've done that.
We see right through your funky hat.

run, horses, run.

Today is that one day in the year (apart from halloween) where the women of melbourne can dress up to go and stare at a horse. That's right, Melbourne cup day. In my world, "The paper only talks about horses but at least we get a day off school" day. I never go to the races, and don't intend to do so this year. Usually, because I live in what the silly city kids call the "country" (really it's just two hours away from all that smog) we don't get Melbourne cup day off. The higher powers at my school have caved once again. So we do now.

Bones was so cool. It's looks like Booth is going to die but I know that he doesn't!

Fantastico Orsacchiotto or Super Teddy?

So, M-cat came over today to work on our cool LOTE project. It is the cheesy story of Signor Orsacchiotto (Mr. Teddy) who, on his way to work, hears a dinosaur roaring. He changes into Fantastico Orsacchiotto (Super teddy) and saves the day.

One day, Mr. Teddy was walking to work when all of a sudden he hears a dinosaur roaring.
"On no!" Mr. Teddy cries, "This is a job for Super Teddy!"
Mr. Teddy transforms into Super teddy.
Super Teddy flies towards the dinosaur to save the day."Ahh!" The dinosaur cries, "It's a teddy wearing underpants and a multi-colored cape!"

In the end Super teddy saves the town, much to the delite of the silly little lego people. He does this by poking the dinosaur in the eye. Of course my actual project will be much better than this, and in italian. I will see if i can get the actual project to upload on here once it is done.

Superhero Teddy Bears

Today at school M-cat and I were given this super-cool project. Our LOTE teacher just got a new laptop and has been figuring out new ways to do stuff for a few weeks, last week it was pod casting, we all made Italian pod cast's. Anyway, this week she found out how to make movies using pictures so we are making a movie while talking in Italian in the background. M-cat and I decided to make a film about a superhero-tree-hugging-tie-dye teddy who saves the world and is a mechanic in his spare time. Then we thought it might be a bit complicated so the teddy is just a superhero. I am now making my teddy a cape and pair of undies. It should be fun.

Domino's (not the pizza)

The hotel that I stayed at on Friday gave me a free pack of Domino's when we checked in. Pretty silly gift, obviously they think that I have nothing better to do than sit in their hotel and play domino's on a Friday night. 'Cough, cough'. Anyways, I was bored today so I decided to play with my free hotel domino's. Then I thought, "Why not film the silly little blocks of wood looking stupid as they fall over?" So I did. This is the result. Man, I must have been really bored.

The Big Bad City where lot's of people seem to enjoy looking foolish and blocking our car.

So... Yesterday I went to, you guessed it, Melbourne. Hello world! What happened that made you so mad?
Melbourne is big, but not super big; smelly, but not super smelly; and busy. We stayed in a big, slightly grand hotel and went to the beach, a market and practically nothing else. Can't complain though, because we stopped at Pennyworth O' Lollies on the way back home. Mmm... chocolate covered raspberries. I took a grand total of 181 photo's. Woops. Poor camera, I guess it will need a bit of rest before I even think about taking more photo's.

Cats are every these days. Even on the walls of schools. Weird. I wouldn't want to go to a school with this painted on the walls. Yay! It's the weekend! After writing that post yesterday M-cat and I went to this school to try and play that funny game. Somehow I don't think we played it quite right. M-cat wants to try and play it at school but after yesterday, there is no way I will be playing in front of everyone at my school. It was funny though.

A games night... Italian style.

Tonight my self and M-cat are going to a very boring and very exceedingly long games night. Really, I should be more enthusiastic about it considering it is going to be raising money for our trip to Italy. (37 days bloggerino's!) This games night basically consists of a bunch of adult's sitting around gambling with fake money. It is not even classy fake money, like monopoly money, but as M-cat calls it: Funny Money.
M-cat is sitting here trying to explain to me the concept of "Funny Money". I am trying to be optimistic about the whole thing but it just goes right over my head.

Another aspect of my school life that goes right over my head and probably all the way over to Antarctica, is the game that the year 10 guys at school play. It involves simply a very bouncy ball and a wall. They proceed to throw the ball at the wall, knowing full well that it is going to come back towards them at twice the speed. Then they hit it and each other. Blah.

This is a video of mine and M-cat's view on the game.

Puckish and Disney letters

"Carolines feeling puckish."
"It means playful and ambitious."
Actually puckish is related to the character in Shakespeare's play: A Midsummer Night's Dream. Puck is a very mischievous fairy.
By the way, this quote is from Bones.

Aren't these just so cute?
I love Disney movies especially Lady and The Tramp and Aristocat's. I now have a whole heap of these but here are some of the best.
