Wattle: Australia's plant. Fortunately for me it is also fun to test out the focus on my camera on.

Diamonds Are A Girl's Best Friend

Marilyn Monroe as Lorelai Lee singing Diamonds Are A Girl's Best Friend.
Dorothy and Lorelai singing When Love Goes Wrong.
Lorelai and Dorothy singing A Little Girl From Little Rock.
On their way up the aisle.
Lorelai and her fiance, Mr. Esmond.

I was watching the film Gentlemen Prefer Blonds today. Marilyn Monroe and Jane Russel are great as Lorelai Lee and Dorothy Shaw.

I have a few blogs that I will read every post and Liebemarlene is one of them. It is full of vintage clothing, films and places that are just wonderful to read about. Anyways, the girl behind this wonderful blog is called Rhiannon and as I was reading her blog I had a sudden whim to draw her and this was the result.

Last Day of the Holiday's

Sea Patrol

It may sound like I watch a fair bit of television when in fact I only turn on the TV to watch just three shows a week: NCIS, Bones and Sea Patrol. That excludes films of course, as they are not TV.

A Thursday Post Written on a Saturday

Roses outside the local church.
I'm loving embroidery right now for some reason.
Finally! My tiny town has something awesome in it, Stenciled Graffiti.
The Old Post Office, much nicer than the box shaped new one in my opinion.
I regret wearing my boots down the street as I now have a big blister on my right heel.
I went down the street to pick up Fi's birthday present on Thursday and ended up buying myself some new tops and jackets. I don't have any pictures except for the one with the embroidery which I actually didn't end up buying but they all have a slightly floral and lilac theme to them.

Birthday Darlings

Today I attended Fi's fabulous Wicked/Wizard-Of-Oz birthday party. I had a great time.My shows with M-cat's socks. She was the Wicked Witch of The East aka Nessarose aka the one that Dorothy killed. My Galinda costume, I was teenage Glinda, thus my name being GAlinda not Glinda.
M-cat and Fi
The birthday cake, it was delicious.
J-kitty and M-cat playing Harry Potter Scene It. Literally two minutes later we gave up because it was boring.
M-cat, J-kitty and Miss Birthday Girl Fi who very tactfully painted only her arms green.
J-kitty as Dorothy with her little dog Toto (aka Dodo according to me). Her dress is actually made from an old school dress, Muck up day costumes anyone?
I refused to touch the strange green face paint that smelled like alcohol.
The birthday girl.
Happy Birthday Fi.

So Much Pink

Photos from

Blue was getting a bit boring for me, as I have had the same colour and header for a while. So, new header and colors here I come. Change is a good thing in my eyes, at least most of the time it turns out to be.
"Because these things will change
can you feel it now?
these walls that they put up to hold us back will fall down.
This revolution, the time will come
for us to finally win
we sing hallelujah, we sing hallelujah"
Change by Taylor Swift (chorus)
Who knows? I might find another picture that I adore and want the world to see.

Airport Kitty

I love this picture of Evan Rachel Wood showing her cat to security at an airport. Here in Australia, I don't think that cats are actually allowed on planes. It seems like a pretty awesome accessory to take onto a plane though.

No Talking

I have been silent now for just about two days. That's right folks, I lost my voice at that wopper of a toy sale at work. How dare all you people come and ask me about toys that most likely will break in a month because your kid got sick of them and threw them at a wall.

The power went out a couple of nights ago, there were storms. I got to walk around with this candle. Probably not the safest thing to do, but it sure was fun.

I am currently loving the CSI remix of Taylor Swift's You're Not Sorry. Look it up on iTunes, I dare you.

I am also currently loving the ridiculous game for Wii called MySims. It's like The Sims, but dorkier.

Fern the Frog

I can't really say that I have been very busy because I haven't, at least not really. I just haven't been as tech-savvy lately as I usually am. Generation Y and all that. I did however have the time to knit this frog and continue on with my granny square blanket. You can check out more pictures here and here.
